Phu Xuan University was established by the Thua Thien–Hue Association for Learning Promotion on 11/7/2003, under Prime Minister’s Decision 140/2003/QĐ-TTg.
From 2003 to 2018, Phu Xuan University’s rector was Dr. Nguyễn Đình Ngộ, a former Deputy Chair of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee, former provincial education director and National Assembly member for three consecutive terms.
2018 marked a major transition for Phu Xuan University with investment from EQuest Education Group. Its educational philosophy emphasises Attitude – Skills – Knowledge, with training guided by economic needs and professional knowledge. On 23/12/2018, the university changed from a people-founded to a private institution under Prime Minister’s Decision 1812/QĐ–Ttg.
Phu Xuan University receives guidance from the Ministry of Education and Training, the provincial Party Committee and the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee. It also receives support from Hue University and its members, the tourism administration and NGOs including the Southeast Asian Scholarship Fund and VHI. With a total site area of 30.400 m2, the university has 3 main campuses in Hue, including classrooms, dormitories and modern libraries.
The NBS Institute of Business and Technology was established in December 2023 under Decision 18/2023/QĐ-PXU-HĐT dated 01/12/2023 of the Chair of Phu Xuan University’s Council, to bring the university’s education services to more learners. Guided by ‘Education for the masses’, NBS lecturers continually innovate in content, formats and teaching methods to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes alongside learners as they build careers and a better future.

The NBS way uses a hybrid model that goes beyond combining in-person and online classes to offer an innovative educational approach. Lecturers use new technologies to create engaging learning experiences. Combining online tools with established teaching methods provides a flexible and inspiring environment.
Focused, in-depth practical skills training
The modular programme develops focused professional skills at each level. After mastering the courses in a module, learners complete a major practical project guided by lecturers or experts to apply theory in practice.
A modern, convenient digital learning environment
Learners are trained to use modern digital marketing and marketing communications tools effectively for marketing, communications, advertising and online sales.
Teaching and learning take place on a digital platform using active learning methods. Specifically:
» Students study, complete assignments and take assessments on the LMS with flexible, 24-hour access.
» Students can discuss questions with lecturers or mentors whenever needed.
» Students review and reinforce knowledge with lecturers in regularly scheduled online classes through Google Meet.
» Students are encouraged to join communities to discuss, share and understand industry trends.
